Stink Bugs are considered an Occasional Invaders. Over the last few years residential and commercial customers have been seeing an increase in seeing Western Conifer Seed Bugs and Brown Marmorated Stink Bugs (Stink Bugs). They can enter through the smallest opening. As all of us are starting to get ready for the winter Stink bugs during the fall months are looking for shelter to over winter. During the early spring they start to emerge from the over wintering areas – you may start to see them at this time in large numbers.  Please note: several of our customers can see them during warmer days during the winter months. They give off an odor once they have been crushed and they do not bite.

Sign that you have a stink bug problem include:
  • Seeing any live or dead stink bugs.
We recommend:
  • Do not leave sink bugs in vacuum bags.
  • Make sure screens do not have any holes.
  • Keep all doors and windows closed.
  • Close/fix any visible small entry points around the exterior of the building.
  • Install/fix any door sweeps.
  • Use exterior insect light bulbs

Please note, a successful stink bug service must be carefully designed and planned.  The effectiveness of stink bug service is an equal effort between a pest control professional and the customer.
